Ideally when you join a forum you fill in your profile, usually through the “Edit Profile” link.

Not every, but most forums, have an About You box. This is where you would write something similar to:

The code I have used is known as BBC code and is a forum standard. If that does not work then revert to html code <a href=”yourdomain.com”>keywords here</a> for the keyword anchor text link to be highlighted and clickable.

When your in edit mode, the anchor text link will not show. All you need do then is go to your “View Profile” page or log out and put in your profile url. Play around with your profile page dropping in your anchor text links and url’s for your website.

If you want to be classed a spammer, then drop more then one or two anchor text links in your about me, as that will send off bells and whistles raising huge red flags at the forum masters console.

Ideally, join a forum one day and then three or four days later, complete your about me section and add your url’s. The reason for the delay is your profile name or user name, will drop off the recently signed up members page and no one will notice what you are doing.

* TIP: Only ever use one anchor text link. Two raises questions (sometimes) don’t risk it. Act like any other member would. You do not have to drop more then one or two links because with the technique I will show you, there are thousands of forums for you to get backlinks from.

Finding Great Forums Of Your Choice

The following technique will never grow old nor will it ever be inundated with thousands of people all trying to get a back link. Before we start, I often choose forums found on pages 2 all the way down to page ten.

I believe new forums will quickly get page rank and authority in quick time, so if you see one with low or no page rank, but appears to be a winner, then don’t hesitate in joining.

Find your own forums using Google search. This technique allows you to find forums that are related to your keyword and it looks like this in the Google search bar:

*keywords*+ forum

When using your keyword use the single keyword or maybe two keywords. Broad searches will return far better results. Go and look at the forum and if you see it is well visited, has good page rank or it is new (like I described above) then sign up and complete your profile.

That’s it.

You probably think I am kidding, but seriously, that is how easy it is to find your own forums to drop your links on. As you can see, not everyone is targeting the same forum each month as you are “chancing” on the forum to join, just like a real person would.

What I have described here is exactly the way I do forum backlinking. I know it works because when I first started I got my hairstyles website to Number 1 on Google for the keyword – Hair – Hair Styles – Hairstyles.

Putting It All Together

For some of you, I have just saved you $5.00 or $8.00 a month buying packets of forum links that get bombarded and ultimately closed down.

My method is that I have a new website now on nursing. Every day, I search for one nursing forum, one edu and one gov forum and build a link through my profile. That’s three links a day pointing to a new site.

Remembering these links will not all get found on the same day, I should not suffer from any penalty for building back links to fast.

Some profiles I ping using pingler.com, sometimes I go into the forum and press the “Thanks” button under new threads and rarely will I make a post in reply to a thread, all depends how confident I am feeling the post would pass.

There are people out there who actually sell this type of information but realistically, when you look at it, this is just someone telling you what the search term is and what a profile link is.

My greatest tip is to use each group over a few months. Build one free blog and schedule the articles over seven days. Then after seven days build your next blog and schedule the posts.

In this next blog, the second one, put an anchor text backlink to your first blog. In the side bar take the first blogs rss feed and put it in the second blog using the side bar or at the bottom. This is building a link wheel passing on all that high page rank you will get from your original articles and authentic site.

Repeat this process all the time. Even with your pdf files, slideshow’s and Youtube description area. Next from free blogs we move on to Web 2.0 sites such as Orble.

Do the same with Web 2.0 sites as well. Do the same with your pdf sites as well.

The only site you can do straight away is make your article videos and upload to YouTube. That is ten different videos on the ten unique articles from each group.

Then a week later load those ten videos to another video site such as DailyMotion or Yahoo.

Repeat this process until all your videos are uploaded.

Can you see the maximum exposure you are building with your original ten articles.

This is huge and with that many different pages on the web you just simply have to get traffic. Imagine 1 person a day from each site – that is 500 visitors, hungry targeted visitors – to your site.
